I wish you calm today…
It’s a state of Be-ing
I love to look up definitions of words before I write.
This morning I was thinking about the word, calm.
Google asked, “Is calm a feeling?” What an intriguing question I thought, so I clicked on it to find out more.
Here’s what it said,
“Calmness is the mental state of peace of mind being free from agitation, excitement, or disturbance. It also refers to being in a state of serenity, tranquillity, or peace. Calmness can most easily occur for the average person during a state of relaxation, but it can also be found during much more alert and aware states.”
Calmness is a state of mind.
Well I believe that so much of our lives are a state of mind. A “mental state.”
How we choose to react to the world around us.
There is so much tragedy and despair around and if I choose, I can focus on all of that.
Feel victimized by it.
And yet, I can choose to look past it.
Well, let’s say beyond it.
To the beauty, the mystery, the adventures of new possibilities that could only have been exposed in these times.
I wish you calm today.
