Let’s get up, it’s going to be a glorious day!
What’s to come?
One morning I was awakened by the moonlight kissing my face. As if to say, “Let’s get up, it’s going to be a glorious day!”
I love waking up with anticipation of what’s to come.
The newness of the morning, the opportunity of the new day to see what may unfold.
It’s exciting, if that’s what I choose to see.
Years ago, I used to open my eyes and immediately feel all the dread, how depressed I was, how fearful.
And so that’s what I continued to see throughout my day.
Then I learned about Positive Psychology and other tools.
Positive Psychology taught me that the act of simply forming my mouth in the shape of a smile for 120 seconds, whether I feel like smiling or not, will change my brain chemistry to start to believe that I am happier.
Wow! I don’t even have to feel it, yet and it can happen.
The old “fake it till you make it” really does work.
And so, I sit with the moon in real joy, truly excited for the day, knowing that whatever may come, I can get through it.
I wish for you a joyful day.
Smile, whether you feel like it or not, and soon you will feel a little happier.
